Project Engineer – Mechanical Location: Anchorage, AK (JBER) Salary: $120,000 – $135,000 per year (based on experience; negotiated during interview) Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Responsibilities Provide construction engineering services on multiple simultaneous federal projects valued up to hundreds of millions of dollars. Conduct site observation, reporting, and technical support for assigned projects. Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements and deliver recommendations to government personnel. Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders, and claims. Prepare field surveillance reports covering cost and engineering considerations. Participate in pre‑construction conferences with government personnel. Present professionally to clients and contractors, demonstrating excellent communication and attention to detail. Previous experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects is a plus. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including construction and contract administration. Experience on projects with government clients is preferred. Experience with large campus‑type projects is preferred. Mechanical systems experience is preferred.
