Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRN ID #33 Base Pay Range $90.00 /hr – $110.00 /hr Job Description Summary The speech‑language pathologist is responsible for implementation of standards of care for speech‑language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement. Responsibilities Conduct appropriate evaluations and assess the home environment (as appropriate). Identify equipment needs relative to speech/language function. Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care to improve patient’s function. Administer speech‑therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment. Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated. Confere with the referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care and contribute to the total plan of care. Participate in case conferences, in‑services and other meetings as required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Prepare and submit notes per organization policy. Maintain clinical competency in speech‑language pathology practice and theory. Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refer as appropriate. Instruct patient, family/caregiver, and other health‑care personnel in the patient’s treatment regime as indicated. May supervise home‑health aide in procedures directly related to the speech‑language therapy plan of care. Perform other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech‑language pathology services. Qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in speech‑language pathology (SLP), and meet one of the following: Licensed as a speech‑language pathologist by the state in which you furnish services; or State does not license SLPs: Completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or in the process of accumulating such experience) Performed not less than 9 months of supervised full‑time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field, and successfully completed an approved national examination in SLP. Minimum of one year of clinical experience in speech‑language pathology. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification. Must possess a valid California driver’s license with a vehicle that is in good working order and insured in accordance with organizational requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to sit occasionally for 1–3 hours. Ability to frequently stand for 3–6 hours. Ability to occasionally drive / operate foot control for 1–3 hours. Ability to walk occasionally on level surface for 1–3 hours. Ability to walk intermittently on unlevel surface for less than one hour. Ability to intermittently bend or climb for less than one hour. Ability to occasionally twist, kneel, crouch, and crawl for 1–3 hours. Ability to lift 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour. Ability to carry up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour. Ability to push up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour.
