Job Description **AECOM** is seeking a **Senior Program Manager** in **Sacramento, CA.** At AECOM, we understand that large programs require the management, coordination and integration of multiple, concurrent projects. These include programs of critical national importance in defense, transport, water, clean energy, environmental clean‑up, international development and disaster recovery, as well as the shaping of many of the world’s major cities. The Opportunity This program will be supporting a large State of California agency in managing program level construction work. As a Senior Program Manager at AECOM, you will have the opportunity to deliver world‑class programs that create positive social and environmental outcomes, leading complex, multidisciplinary teams across diverse sectors and regions, and working with key clients and stakeholders to achieve their goals. Responsibilities Lead and manage programs that are medium to large in size and complexity or a defined part of a larger program, in support of the overall Program Manager. Provide the organization with technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery at a regional level. Advocate for ethical and safe working practices. Contributes to innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation. Work with Regional leadership and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them. Identify areas of high risk and pro‑actively takes actions to positively impact program outcomes. Assess long‑term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise. Proposes skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future. Actively supports the attraction and retention of talent across area of expertise. Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS + 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership. Prefferred Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience with 5 in a senior role within program management. Proven leader in medium organizations, driving performance and achieving organizational success. Developing experience in managing through complexity, coordinating stakeholder interests, navigating regulatory frameworks, and overcoming technical hurdles. Developing an external network of industry contacts and peers. Expanding awareness as a program manager capable of applying program management practices on successful programs. Expertise in applicable technical areas of program management. Proficient leader with a track record of inspiring and guiding program teams. Fosters a collaborative and positive team culture. Ideally degree qualified (BA/BS or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as architecture, engineering, or project management. PMI‑PgMP, APM‑RPP or CMAA‑CCM Certification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential. Preferred Professional Engineering License (for roles in USA), Chartered status or equivalent may be required for certain roles. Experience as a construction program manager like the Judicial Council’s program is preferred. Working within a political environment. Facilitate designated stakeholders, internal controls, state agencies and legislature in program planning and management control. Experience in managing costs control, scheduling, risk management and/or comparable positions. Additional Information Sponsorship is not available for this role. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $190,000.00 - $250,000.00.
