**Department**SING Corporate Engagement**About the Department**The Office of Science, Innovation, National Laboratories, and Global Initiatives collaborates with deans, faculty and other University leaders to shape the strategic scientific and technological direction of the University and supports its implementation through and across the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the UChicago Global Centers, and Argonne National Laboratory and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The office also works in close collaboration with UChicago Research.**Job Summary**Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Corporate Engagement, the Associate Director of Corporate Engagement will work closely with academic units, University Research Administration (URA), Office of Legal Counsel (OLC), the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, and the Polsky Center to shape and execute strategic engagements that support the research and educational missions of the University, and to further the goals of its corporate partners. This role leads the planning, development, and implementation of University objectives, long-range and strategic plans, and identifies the University’s strengths and weaknesses. Identifies new external partners to advance strategic priorities. The candidate will play a key role in developing strategy for industry outreach and engagement, and in designing, executing, and managing corporate partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of working with companies and universities in a business development capacity, and substantial expertise in partnership design and management.**Responsibilities*** Manages and executes across a range of complex projects related to corporate partnerships in research, innovation, career advancement, and civic engagement.* Strategically develops impactful collaboration opportunities to present to corporate partners.* Oversees and leads engagement with industry partners, including attending conferences and events as needed, and coordinating on-campus visits.* Manages the implementation of partnership agreements.* Works with academic units to identify areas for industry partnering that achieve unit objectives, and develops strategies to implement and grow industry partnerships.* Works in close collaboration with URA, OLC, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Polsky Center.* Develops and maintains relations with a range of stakeholders.* Leads high-level projects from scoping through implementation, management and growth.* Acts as a lead researcher, implementer and planner for a wide array of efforts led by the academic units, the Provost’s Office, and the President’s Office.* Leads the creation and maintenance of an international outreach database. Prepares and implements campus-based itineraries for visiting international delegations.* Establishes and maintains a database of peer and competitor profiles.
