A leading, high-growth commercial construction and real estate development company with over $500MM in annual revenue is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive team. This is a rare opportunity to help lead a company on the path toward $1B+ in revenue — shaping strategy, driving operational excellence, and building the financial foundation for sustainable growth. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO will be a key strategic partner , balancing vision with execution and guiding the company through its next phase of expansion. You’ll lead all aspects of financial management — from forecasting and capital planning to systems innovation and operational alignment — while serving as a visible, hands‑on leader across all business units. What You’ll Do Serve as a senior advisor to the President & executive team, influencing long‑term strategy, growth initiatives, and acquisitions. Lead accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, and compliance across multiple divisions. Strengthen job‑cost visibility, WIP reporting, and cash flow performance to improve profitability. Build scalable financial systems and controls to support rapid growth and future expansion. Drive M&A strategy, integration, and capital structure planning. Manage key relationships with banks, bonding companies, insurers, and external partners. Champion innovation through financial technology, data analytics, and real‑time reporting. Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance and accounting team that reflects the company’s collaborative, high‑integrity culture. Experience 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience; at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance role. Strong background in construction, development, or related industries. Proven success scaling a company from $500MM–$1B+ through operational discipline and strategic foresight. Expertise in construction finance, including WIP, bonding, and project accounting. Experience with M&A, strategic planning, and capital markets. Exceptional communication skills — able to translate complex financials into actionable insight. Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA and/or MBA preferred. Based in (or willing to relocate to) Iowa with consistent on‑site presence.
