Position Summary:
The Production Associate (General Utility II) performs a variety of tasks including inspecting, packing, palletizing, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving production materials. Work is in refrigerated setting or in a hot environment. Comply with GMPs and other Safe Quality Foods written programs in addition to following all Safety work procedures. Essential functions include but are not limited to inspecting, monitoring, and communicating problems with equipment or product to the Production Lead.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Demonstrate good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP), and governmental regulatory standards.
- Inspects product by hand, with proper PPE, on moving conveyor belt to ensure product consistency.
- Understand different case packs and weight ranges of product.
- Ensure proper sealing of bags and boxes before packing into cases or onto pallets.
- Monitor packing equipment to ensure everything is working correctly.
- Communicate with co-workers at shift change regarding situations that have or may have impact on production operation.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Performs general housekeeping duties in production area; maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic knowledge of simple math skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
