Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree with six years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree with eight years of relevant experience. Administrative Leadership (20%) Develop and implement a strategic research agenda aligned with institutional priorities and national space research goals. Promote collaborative partnerships between Consortium member institutions, government agencies (e.g., NASA, DoD), and industry partners. Serve as the primary liaison between the Consortium and external funding agencies, advocating for research priorities and funding opportunities. Serve as the primary liaison with industry partners, identifying customer needs and potential collaboration areas. Represent the Consortium at national and international conferences, advocating for its research priorities. Build and maintain relationships with top ten Space Industry Companies in Florida. Build and maintain relationships with federal and state agencies, policymakers, and research organizations. Oversee day‑to‑day activities of the Consortium. Act as the representative of the Consortium to promote all its activities and interests. Act as liaison between the Consortium and external entities, including commercial companies, space‑related non‑profits, Space Florida, government agencies, sponsors, and donors. Identify space as needed to operate the Consortium and execute its activities. Identify Consortium staffing needs and make hiring recommendations to the Board. By August 31 each year, provide the Board with a written report or presentation summarizing activities performed and a high‑level financial summary of all revenue collected, amounts expended, and amounts held on behalf of the Consortium. Financial & Membership Management (20%) Develop, maintain, and grow a self‑sustaining business model to meet the future needs of the Consortium’s Board. Track and manage member contributions, including initial and annual payments. Issue payment reminders and provide financial status reports to the Consortium Board. Collaborate with the Fiscal Agent to ensure proper fund allocation and financial reporting. Monitor and report on Consortium expenses, including office leases, salaries, and research initiatives. Prepare and present quarterly financial and operational reports to the Consortium Board. Provide regular updates to the Board and any Board committees on Consortium activities and strategic initiatives. Prepare reports, proposals, and recommendations for Board review and approval. Incur reasonable expenses in carrying out the purposes of Consortium activities provided such expenses are consistent with any approved budget or authorization by the Fiscal Agent. Strategic Planning & Market Assessment (20%) Conduct market assessments and research to support Consortium objectives with focused efforts on industry. Identify opportunities for new partnerships, funding sources, and research collaborations. Develop proposals and recommendations for the Consortium Board to enhance the Consortium’s impact. Compliance & Reporting (20%) Ensure all Consortium activities comply with applicable regulations, agreements, and policies. Facilitate audits and financial reviews as required by the Consortium Board. Prepare and submit required filings, reports, and documentation to maintain compliance. Member Engagement & Expansion (20%) Facilitate the admission process for new Consortium university and industry members, including reviewing applications and coordinating the voting process. Maintain an updated roster of Consortium Members and their voting rights. Organize and coordinate Consortium meetings, including agenda preparation and minutes. Identify and recommend potential new Consortium members, universities, and commercial partners subject to nomination and approval by the Consortium Board. Expected Salary: Commensurate with Education and Experience Required Qualifications Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading large-scale research initiatives in the space sciences or aerospace sectors. Previous administrative leadership experience. Experience in technology transfer and commercialization of research innovations; strong network with federal funding agencies (e.g., NASA, DoD, NSF, DOE). Experience working with commercial space partners and providers. Proven record leading multi‑institutional research or innovation initiatives in space science, aerospace, or defense sectors. Experience in public‑private partnerships, technology transfer, and commercialization of research outcomes. Established network within NASA, DoD, FAA, Space Force, Space Florida, and major aerospace companies. Demonstrated ability to attract funding from government and industry sponsors.
