The mission of the clinic is to effectively engage people experiencing homelessness who also have complex care needs. In addition to this, the clinic aims to provide trauma-informed care focused on patient-oriented care goals while addressing substance use, mental health, housing progression, and comorbid medical conditions. The Safety Net psychiatrist provides clinical care and supports an interdisciplinary care team model in a setting that includes primary care, social work, care coordinators, and nursing.https://apply.interfolio.com/171301Full Time Attending Psychiatrist – World Trade Center Environmental Health Center (WTCEHC)The WTC Environmental Health Center is a clinic serving survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This vibrant, fully integrated medical and mental health clinic provides patients with treatment and annual monitoring for WTC-related to exposure to the disaster under the auspices of the World Trade Center Health Program, federally funded under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010; 2015. The Clinical Psychiatrist conducts mental health diagnostic evaluations of WTCEHC patients who screen positive for mental health symptoms and indicated interest in mental health certification and/or treatment. This individual will provide psychiatric treatment for WTCEHC patients (caseload approx. 250 patients) for certified conditions, including primarily medication management, as well as individual or group therapy when appropriate. This position is a service-centered, integral part of an interdisciplinary treatment team that includes addiction counselors (SW’s and CASAC), community health workers, a psychologist and an addiction-medicine trained primary provider. The psychiatrist is expected to provide care to patients with a range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioid, stimulant and cannabis use disorders; as well as managing comorbid psychiatric pathology. Additionally, based on interest and need, the clinician may cover the addiction clinic’s outpatient withdrawal services. There are in-service opportunities to teach staff members about addiction and psychiatric care.
