Summary:
Participates in overall planning, resource allocation, staff development, monitoring activity and goal setting/achievement for the business team and Outpatient PM&R department. Responsible for overall activities and day-to-day supervision of the business team.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the business team including scheduling, registration, medical records, insurance authorization, charge capture and billing.
2. Participates in the recruitment, hiring and orientation of business staff. Ensures competency of staff. Serves as resource for satellite office business staff.
3. Completes all business staff performance appraisals with the manager and program coordinators as indicated.
4. Plans and completes annual budget in collaboration with the manager involving programs & expenses for business area & facility.
5. Coordinates systems upgrades and product implementation. Serves as a resource for outpatient staff regarding systems/computers.
6. Responsible for business area performance improvement initiatives and action plans as a member of the Performance Improvement Committee. Ensures corporate compliance of business areas.
7. Identifies, analyzes and resolves business issues. Facilitates work redesign efforts for business operations.
8. Integrates business functions with clinical needs to meet the needs of all customers.
9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Required: MS Excel and MS Word required.
Minimum Experience: three years
Desired: Bachelors degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
