OverviewYou will serve as a PIPEFITTER LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY and work at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.SalaryHourly: $30.11 to $50.37 per hour.DutiesLead a group of pipefitters and ensure work assignments are completed.Install, modify, fabricate, and repair shipboard pipe systems and equipment, including low and high pressure air, water, and steam systems.Mentor, train, and instruct Pipe Shop employees in a wide range of pipefitting duties.Inspect completed and in-progress work for quality workmanship and adherence to requirements, specifications, standards, plans, and schedules.Perform maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, installation, modification, and testing in the shop and aboard ships.Research to continually improve trade processes and keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies, procedures, best practices, and tooling improvements.Conditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to pass E-Verify.Remotely eligible: No.Telework eligible: No.Travel required: Occasional travel.
