**Department**ESA College Aid**About the Department**Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Office at the University of Chicago provides exceptional customer service to all students and families requesting assistance in financing their education. The Office of Financial Aid has a staff of 20 people, including counselors, and assistant directors. For more information visit https://financialaid.uchicago.edu/.**Job Summary**The Associate Director is a key team member leading all technical and operational processes in the Financial Aid Office. The Associate Director serves on the departmental management team and will function as the main contact between the Office of College Financial Aid and campus stakeholders for all matters of technical operations. This position reports to the College Aid Director and supervises 1-2 College financial aid team members.**Responsibilities*** Supports Oracle Campus Solutions Financial Aid module for undergraduate packaging.* Effectively plans, organizes, tests, and sets up prospective and continuing financial aid cycles.* Supports integration and develops new processes utilizing financial aid, Technolutions Slate, and student self-service.* Collaborates on the strategic usage of and planning for financial aid technology and operational initiatives.* Reviews current business processes and makes recommendations to improve workflow and effectiveness.* Leads development and implementation of IT strategy, including providing training and maintaining documentation.* Tests new software installations and troubleshoots system-related problems.* Ensures compliance with federal, state and University policies related to financial aid awarding.* Mass package and financial aid notifications throughout cycle.* Analyzes student’s financial need using institutional and federal methodology and package financial aid.* Meets with prospective and current students and families to explain UChicago financial aid.* Analyzes the maximum aid needed to students yet remain within government guidelines and overall budget limitations for aid distribution.* Communicates financial aid policies and programs to currently enrolled students with moderate guidance.* Performs other related work as needed.**Minimum Qualifications****Education:**Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.**Work Experience:**Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.**Certifications:****---****Preferred Qualifications****Education:*** Bachelor's degree.* Advanced degree.**Experience:*** A minimum of five years progressive experience in financial aid.* Planning and implementing technology within a financial aid office.* Extensive customer service experience.**Technical Skills or Knowledge:*** Extensive knowledge of Oracle Campus Solutions (Peoplesoft).* Advanced knowledge of financial aid related software applications.* Extensive knowledge of federal and state student financial aid program regulations.* Extensive knowledge of Technolutions Slate.**Preferred Competencies*** Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.* Effective problem solving skills.* Handle several projects simultaneously and to work well under pressure.* Work independently and as part of a team.* Maintain confidentiality.* Lead and coordinate the work of others.* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.**Application Documents*** Resume/CV (required)When applying, the document(s) **MUST** be uploaded via the **My Experience** page, in the section titled **Application Documents** of the application.**Job Family**Student Affairs & Services**Role Impact**Individual Contributor**Scheduled** **Weekly Hours**37.5**Drug Test Required**No**Health Screen Required**No**Motor Vehicle Record Inquiry Required**No**Pay Rate Type**Salary **FLSA Status**Exempt **Pay Range**$70,000.00 - $100,000.00The included pay rate or range represents the University’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting.**Benefits Eligible**YesThe University of Chicago offers a wide range of benefits programs and resources for eligible employees, including health, retirement, and paid time off.
