The Cypress of Charlotte currently is recruiting for a full-time Janitor (Monday thru Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and every other weekend) at our upscale senior living retirement community located in the SouthPark area in Charlotte, NC.

From the moment you step onto our community, you'll be greeted by our laid-back and welcoming atmosphere that encourages collaboration, creativity, and fun. With your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence, you'll take pride in ensuring that you maintain clean, sanitary, pleasant living environment for our residents. Our Janitor performs housekeeping and cleaning duties that exceed industry guidelines and leave a lasting impression on everyone they serve.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Janitor:
  • Assumes responsibilities for cleaning member buildings, hallways, stairwells, windows, recycle rooms,
    elevators, and lobbies.
  • Cleans rest rooms, storerooms and assigned common areas.
  • Mixes chemicals as necessary.
  • Cleans floors, furnishings, walls, woodwork and specified equipment.
  • Dusts, sweeps, dry and wet mops, waxes and buffs.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets and rugs.
  • Cleans and polishes glass panels, doors and partitions.
  • Empties and washes waste baskets, trash containers and ashtrays.
  • Disinfects and deodorizes as directed.
  • Maintains department vehicles and equipment.
  • Empties trash receptacles in and around buildings.
  • Moves furniture and performs exterior cleaning tasks.
  • Makes small repairs in residences, laundry and equipment.
  • May complete set up for various activities and functions throughout campus.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Wears designated uniforms with required identification badge in a clean and neat fashion.

    Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have.
  • Ability to count and perform simple mathematics to insure proper inventory levels.
  • Must have valid driver's license and maintain "clean" driving record.
  • Knowledge of floor care maintenance to include vinyl tile and carpet cleaning.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must be able to frequently stand, stoop, bend, squat throughout a shift, and be able to stand/walk for up to 70% of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance and carry 15 feet, and push/pull on a cart.

Compensation: $15.50+/Hr.
