Phillips & Jordan is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join their team.

If you have 5+ years of construction-focused electrical experience, this is an opportunity you need to explore Supervisory experience, substation experience, or a journeyman license preferred, but not required.

This position requires regular travel. If you are located on the east coast, you will be traveling between KY, WV, VA, TN, MI, OH, and IN. If you are centrally located, you will be traveling between TX, OK, AK, and LA.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Install and repair electrical grounding components, temporary & permanent
• Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections of repaired and installed grounding systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Direct and train other workers to diagnose, identify & install the proper ground connections and components in creating a solution to a problem.
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and standards.
• Operating within a live substation while installing and upgrading ground grid, swage connections & perimeter halo grid.
• Educating, spotting and alerting the crew of electrical hazards and proper distances for a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of utilizing a DMC swage press, installation of station ground rods, ground grid expansion, etc.
• Manual labor is required to perform certain tasks in completing a project.
• Must be able to read station drawings in identifying potential hazards and corrective measures.
