Corporate Security Specialist
Reporting to: Regional Corporate Security Manager (RCSM)
Job purpose: Protection of corporate assets for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty locations in a designated market.

 

  • Responsible for the protection of assets within their area of responsibility. Support will be provided to all company locations within the area of responsibility to include airport and affiliate locations, as well as HLE, TNC, and Car Sales locations.
  • Report to the area Corporate Security Manager (CSM) and RCSM issues, problems, or incidents that arise in a manner appropriately commensurate with significance, urgency, and scope.
  • Primary focus includes the protection of vehicle assets and preparing/filing vehicle theft reports with law enforcement or the court/magistrate per local guidelines. Travel will be required to meet these objectives, including driving, flying, and/or overnight stays as necessary.
  • Manage court documents and provide court testimony or restitution figures on behalf of the company as needed.
  • Develop and maintain liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Conduct and/or review location security and safety audits. Identify opportunities and vulnerabilities, work with CSM and RCSM to make improvement recommendations, and follow-up to completion.
  • Compile and prepare routine incident and metrics reporting as directed.
  • Detect and report to the CSM and RCSM any indications of internal theft, external theft, collusion, organized crime, etc.
  • Provide adequate training to Managers and staff on appropriate topics including theft and fraud prevention and detection measures, etc.
  • Assist with the successful roll-out and implementation of programs as directed relating to security, safety, and the prevention of theft and fraud.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key leaders to include Zone VPs, HR, Legal, Fleet, etc. Handle law enforcement requests for information following company policies.
  • In the events of criminal incidents, threat assessments, and other time-sensitive security matters, promptly seek guidance from and work in partnership with CSM and RCSM.
  • Participate in the recovery of vehicles as directed. Keep accurate records while adhering to strict protocols in the recovery process.
  • Assist area locations as needed with security technology such as CCTV, alarm, access-control, fraud prevention equipment, and physical security components and equipment.
  • Complete, investigate, and close Breach of Security reports.
  • Working with the area CSM and RCSM, follow up on the completion of action items for Annual Security Evaluations.

Professional Experience:

  • Prior law enforcement preferred or 5+ years’ experience in Loss Prevention, Asset Protection, Corporate Security.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of filing theft reports with law enforcement
  • Knowledge of investigation management
  • Knowledge of providing professional court testimony
  • Criminal investigations
  • Rental car operations
  • Computer based applications Microsoft office
  • Ability to quickly learn computer-based applications for Hertz
  • Incident documentation and reporting
  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Alarm, and Access Control Systems
  • Ability to provide relevant on-the-job training to non-security personnel
  • Broad analytical skills

Salary: $70,000/yr
