Director of Outreach Status: Full-Time Reports to: Executive Pastor SUMMARY The Director of Outreach oversees the church’s efforts to implement a key part of its mission: to “Make Jesus Known”. This person leads the congregation in all local and international outreach initiatives. This role requires demonstrated leadership experience, a passion for ministry to those in need, and the organizational gifts to oversee large ministry efforts. The ability to inspire volunteers to invest their time and energy is essential. In its nine years of existence, Pennington Park Church has a rich history of Outreach, and we are excited for this person to take what God has started and continue to grow it so that more may know Jesus. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree desired Missions experience from either the sending side or the going side of missions required Demonstrated leadership experience; experience in church and/or community outreach NECESSARY SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong communication and organizational skills Proven leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills Oversee policies, budget, and ministry goals related to Outreach Inspire the congregation to participate in the Great Commission, both locally and globally Lead the global and local outreach councils Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision Strategic planning and vision casting related to Outreach Cross-Cultural Ministry Experience PASSION & CALLING Committed follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to serve God Excited about the vision and mission of Pennington Park Church Passionate about reaching the unreached with the hope of the Gospel Must be in agreement with Pennington Park Church’s statement of faith SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 Lives out a commitment to prayer and the study of God’s Word Committed to spiritual growth and being in community with other believers ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Cast vision and cultivate a passion to see the Great Commission accomplished Share missions updates and pray for outreach missions in our services Lead, organize and implement the annual REACH global missions conference Organize, communicate, and fundraise for the church’s annual Christmas Offering Platform the call of “all” believers to participate in the Great Commission Coordinate outreach opportunities for PPC ministries such as small groups, PPC Students, and PPC Kids Create and cast vision and strategy for outreach at PPC Create a clear strategy for local and global outreach ministry Plan and oversee the budget for global and local outreach Oversee our local outreach ministries Family Advocate Ministry Lead and organize the annual Fall Festival outreach Cultivate relationships with local outreach partners Mobilize the members of PPC to volunteer in local outreach ministries Plan and coordinate community projects Communicate outreach opportunities to the congregation Equip our members to serve in local outreach Regular contact and prayer with PPC’s missionaries and missions partners Maintain frequent check-ins with missionaries Communicate the needs of our missionaries to the staff and members Lead and oversee the Global and Local Outreach Councils Create the agenda for and lead the bi-monthly Outreach Council meetings Seek regular input from the members of these Outreach Councils Manage and organize Vision Trips Cast a vision for going and the importance of seeing the global church Identify Vision Trips for PPC members Organize the trip details in partnership with PPC’s missionaries ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS AND COMPENSATION Full-time, salaried position with full benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
