**The Opportunity |Mechanical Assembler**

Reporting into the Manager, Production, assembles ruggedized mechanical enclosure and sub-assembly cabinets for the defense industry. Supports the assembly of integrated sub systems and assemblies in accordance with laid down blue prints to make sure all products meet the MIL Standards and ready for deployment by the customers in a timely fashion and by ensuring quality at source and compliance were maintained throughout the production life cycle.

**Your Challenge:**

* Perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools and related equipment.

* Previous experience in manufacturing, Assembly or other related fields.

* Operate press brake to assemble sheets.

* Operate automatic fastener machine to secure lining to sidewalls.

* Operate index machine.

* Perform carpenter-related work.

* Operate both stationary and moving overhead cranes.

* Install lights and wiring.

* Operate forklift as required.

* Operate any equipment needed to perform job.

* Perform other related duties as needed by the supervisor.

**Technical Capabilities:**

* Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions.

* Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.

* Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

* Ability to apply critical thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and develop a new concept or idea.

* High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.

* Math skills including the ability to use and understand common fractions and decimals.

* Ability to perform and train employees on all Mechanical sub-assemblies and bare racks.

**Qualifications of Successful Candidate:**

**Education:**

* High School Diploma or GED is required.

* A Technical Qualification in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.

- AS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized accredited University is considered a plus.**Work Experience:**

A minimum of Two (2) years professional work experience in a mechanical assembly working environment is required, ability to fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment, ability to review the design, drawing and check completeness of rugged electronics enclosures and consoles or has worked extensively in a similar position is required.

You will regularly be required to stand, frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. You will occasionally be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Additionally, you will also carry out the following tasks:

* Regularly lift and move 10 pounds, frequently lift and move 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds.

* Regularly perform repetitive tasks.

* Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
