Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Title Senior Quality Assurance Specialist at Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. Overview The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist is a core member of the Quality Assurance team that monitors and reports quality metrics, collaborates with operational and support departments to identify trends and root causes, and drives improvements to support the quality management system. Core Values Own It Hustle and Refuse to Settle Love People Act for the Greater Good Find a way Responsibilities Evaluate and identify opportunities for improving practices and procedures using FDA regulations and third?party certification requirements as a guide. Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining 3rd party certifications and managing compliance schedule. Assist in efforts to educate and train employees on food safety and quality topics. Investigate and analyze incidents to identify trends related to the Quality Management System. Initiate corrective actions and communicate findings to the leadership team. Lead verification and validation activities for FDA and Global Food Safety Initiative compliance. Implement continuous improvement through utilization of Food Safety Plans, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), HACCP, allergen control, and consumer complaint reduction. Act as QA representative on multi?functional project teams or non?routine assignments under moderate supervision. Other duties as assigned. Working Relationship Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. Communicates regularly and maintains strong relationships with team members in multiple departments. Communicates and meets periodically with other departmental leaders. Qualifications Required Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 117 regulations, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Strong computer, document management skills, and attention to detail. Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form. Strong problem?solving / troubleshooting skills. Strong auditing / assessment skills. Proficiency in computer programs / software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. 4?year bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. 15 years of related experience preferred. HACCP and PCQI certification preferred. Experience complying with NSF and GFSI standards preferred. Great verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Education High school diploma or equivalent.
