Together, we can make a lasting impact in the Bay Area and beyond.Position SummaryThe Missional Outreach Director is an essential member of the Central Spiritual Formation Team and will help everyone in the Bay Area find and follow Jesus and be spiritually formed into his likeness by creating environments to live their lives UP in worship, IN community and OUT on mission.This person works closely with the Pastor of Spiritual Formation, in collaboration with the Central Spiritual Formation Team, to execute vision and strategy for Menlo to effectively be “For the Bay” and the world in areas of gospel deeds and proclamation through evangelism, aid, justice, mercy and mission exposure to bring glory to God and Spiritual Formation to everyone.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSGuides vision, strategy, and execution for missional outreach for the bay and beyond.Gathers high-capacity Spiritual Formation volunteers and equips them for ministry in collaboration with campus staff. Leads, encourages, and develops volunteers through 1:1 and group interactions and through Menlo’s leadership pipeline. Will specifically build Volunteer Teams and Leaders at each campus to execute local outreach initiatives/evangelism as well as Central Volunteer Teams and Leaders to execute and steward International Partnerships and engagement.Additional duties and special projects as assigned by Pastor of Spiritual FormationQUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and ExperienceMinimum 3-years’ experience leading in the church or parachurch with a focus on International and/or Local Missions/Outreach or Evangelism.Demonstrated ability in strategy, administration, management, and execution of missional outreach equipping, events, and trips as well as local/international partnership vetting.Demonstrated effectiveness in personal evangelism and equipping others to engage in evangelism.Demonstrated teachability, flexibility, and hunger for learning to increase personal and organizational effectiveness.Experience serving on a volunteer team engaged in local and/or international missional outreach.Experience serving as a small group leader.College Graduate (Seminary Degree preferred).Knowledge and SkillsAble to love, serve and lead the congregation and staff of Menlo Church in Missional Outreach as a pathway for Spiritual Formation.Team player and team builder with a focus on the vision of the whole churchPositive attitude and high emotional intelligenceStrong administrative and interpersonal skills that ensure strategic execution.Ability to lead effectively in front of small and large groups in training and equipping.Strong written and spoken communication skills.Proficiency with common office applications and collaboration tools, including Google Workspace, Asana, and cloud platformsAbility to learn new software, programs, and digital platforms.Work ConditionsThis job regularly operates in a church setting with office equipment, storage containers, classrooms, & machine shopWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.Lifting & moving 20lbs may be required.Regular, predictable attendance is required to meet with the public and team as business demands dictate.Days and hours of work are Sunday-Thursday with an occasional Friday, Saturday, or evening as needed.Live out their personal relationship with Jesus Christ by growing more in His likeness, eager to share and see others come to know true hope.Demonstrate active engagement as a member of Menlo Church by: Regularly attending and inviting others to services, connecting in community through groups, volunteering in a ministry, and committing to giving to the mission and vision of Menlo Church.Holds themself and others accountable to live and love others with integrity and diligence in light of their identity in Christ.Hold compatible theological beliefs in alignment with the essential tenets of ECO, as outlined on their website ( https://eco-pres.org/ ).The position described in this posting represents that a staff member must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
