The Opportunity-


Calling all meticulous number crunchers and strategic thinkers Join us as a Unit Price Estimator at Jamail & Smith Construction, where you'll be at the heart of our project success. Your mission? To meticulously collect and analyze project costs—whether it's raw materials, labor, or cutting-edge equipment—ensuring our estimates are spot-on every time. Dive into quantity take-offs, craft precise cost estimates, and orchestrate bid bonds like a true pro.


But that's not all. You'll be the linchpin in our communication with subcontractors, deciphering the financial puzzle to deliver flawless project execution. And as a true team player, you'll lend a hand around the office, tackling daily tasks and calls with enthusiasm.

What You Will Do-

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and construction documents to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for bidding on projects.
  • Utilize RS Means and E4Clicks for precise cost estimation.
  • Estimate costs for materials, equipment, subcontracted work, and labor based on project requirements.
  • Provide preliminary and detailed itemized estimates, adjusting as necessary for project scope changes.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor proposals to determine pricing and cost effectiveness.
  • Prepare cost statements and documentation regularly, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Act as a resource during project start-up to clarify estimates and construction methods.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess project conditions and risks.
  • Assemble comprehensive bid-files for project submissions.
  • Assist with procurement contracts and maintains updated supplier and subcontractor contacts.


What You Bring To The Table-

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Finance or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-5 years of commercial construction experience required.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with Gordian- RS Means pricing & unit price estimating.
  • Experience in multiple software systems including Procore and Adobe and E4 Clicks.
