Fullerton, United States Provider Solutions & Development Full time

Providence St. Jude Medical Group is seeking a full-time adult Orthopedic Surgeon who is fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery to join our large and well-established orthopedic group in Orange County, California. The physician will be expected to provide the full spectrum of complex surgical care for foot an ankle conditions not limited to total ankle replacements, complex reconstructions of the midfoot and hindfoot, as well as surgical repair of acute foot and ankle fractures (including calcaneus and pilon fractures). Candidates can expect their practice to be busy right away given the abundance of foot and ankle patients being referred by ten orthopedic colleagues and 100+ primary care providers in the medical group. The current foot and ankle fellowship-trained surgeon is transitioning towards retirement, so there will be ample patient volume for the new surgeon. Our orthopedic group is composed of ten other orthopedic surgeons who are fellowship-trained in sports medicine, total joint replacement, and trauma. It also includes two orthopedic surgeon "hospitalists" who take the bulk of the call volume at our nationally recognized acute care hospital. Additionally, the surgeons are well-supported by seven full-time physician assistants. All elective procedures and on-call duties are centralized at one hospital with attached ASC: Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. The new surgeon will also be working with three full-time podiatrists who are employed with our group. The surgeon will be expected to work collaboratively with the podiatrists to care for complex surgical cases which are beyond the scope of the podiatrists' practice. The orthopedic department at Providence St. Jude Medical Center has system-leading orthopedic outcomes and has earned an Advanced Certification from the Joint Commission. The new surgeon will be expected to participate in our multi-disciplinary department case conferences and process enhancement meetings which are instrumental for maintaining our evidence-based orthopedic program.

  • Must have fellowship training in adult foot and ankle surgery with need for total ankle replacements
  • Work with an established team of 10 board-certified Orthopedic Physicians, 7 physician assistants, and three podiatrists
  • Practice at one location: Clinic, ORs, and ASC centrally located at Providence St. Jude Medical Center

  • The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and may include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, hospital/ED call stipends, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above
