We are looking for an attorney to assist our current legal and right-of-way acquisition team to handle the recent and continued rapid growth to our business along with our increasingly complex legal and real property work. Responsibilities Drafts, reviews and negotiates a wide range of real property agreements for a dark fiber services operating company, including easements, encroachments, railroad crossings and other real property license agreements, real estate purchase agreements with title research, land use and zoning assessments, and municipal franchise and other public right-of-way agreements. Drafts, reviews and negotiates additional business agreements including customer agreements and related service orders, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, and provides assistance on asset purchase agreements and other company financing activities. Researches federal, state and local laws; drafts and implements policies to ensure compliance with such laws; keeps up to date on pending legislation and regulations and assists with developing strategies to respond appropriately. Completes and files various regulatory reports, license applications and forms as necessary to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Drafts correspondence and administrative pleadings; assists with managing outside counsel. Assists with general organization of legal department operations. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications and Benefits Juris Doctor (JD) degree and must be licensed by at least one state bar, with preference for a Virginia bar license. 2-4 years of experience in law firm or in-house legal department. Experience within the telecommunications industry is preferred.
