There are many reasons to build your career at Carter's.TheMaintenanceTechnicianIis responsible formaintainingthe Distribution Centerdaily using preventive and corrective measuresensure the safety of the facility.75%:Daily OperationsOperate automated battery changer to replace batteries in powered industrial lifts including, but not limited to Order Pickers, Reach Lifts, Electric Pallet Jacks, Pacers, Clamp Lifts,Fork Lifts.Check for adequate water in batteries, and place on charge.Check water levels on assigned schedule and add water as needed.Visually inspect batteries, tag, and report repairs that are needed.Document tasks performed on a daily basis.Ability to communicate verbally and through written communication with both peers, departments, and all levels of management.Ensuring that all work, including work performed by subcontractors, is donein accordance withOSHA regulations and Carter's safety rules.Maintaining good housekeeping and working well with management,peersand subordinate employees to maximize productivity while minimizing employee conflict. Responsibleforobservinghousekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; Stay within compliance of the company policiesregardingsafety.25%: Support FunctionsPerform preventative, corrective, and break down maintenance on conveyors and other material handling equipment.Assistwith planning and coordinating the maintenance and repair of conveyors, machines, and equipment.Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution CenterPerform other tasks as assigned.You willoperateequipment for most of your shift, so you must be able to passequipmentand safety certification.Experience using routine industrial hand tools.Basic electrical knowledge.Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facilityobjectivesand key performance indicators.A customer-service orientation willing to exceed the expectations our customers.Ability tolift to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).Flexibility to work overtimeandcomply withblackout periods(no vacation or personal time allowed)during peak periods.A valid state-issued drivers' license anda good drivingrecord.Preferred skills and experience:High school diploma or GED preferred, notrequired.Formal technical school or college degree preferred0-2 years of maintenance experience.Carters is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
