May where necessary, become certified, and operate heavy equipment. (Hilo, Bucket Truck, Chipper, etc.) Operate power tools, weed whips, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, shovels, and other related tools.Setup and Cleanup of Township meetings, events, etc.Perform related work as required. Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesAn employee in this class must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities upon application:KnowledgeTools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, plumbing, landscaping, electrical, and carpentry fields.Relevant safety procedures and practices regarding maintenance and repair workSkillsOperation of power equipment, tools, carpet cleaner, floor scrubbing machine, and other maintenance related machinery.Broad Technical knowledgeMechanical aptitudeActive listeningExcellent Oral and written communicationManagement of time and resources.Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.AbilitiesWork effectively with other employees and the public.Perform a variety of minor maintenance tasks.The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).The ability to quickly and steadily move your hands and arms, to grasp, maneuver, manipulate, or assemble objects and operate hand tools and equipment.The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Perform physical labor involving lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds on a routine basis.Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by the Human Resource Department.
