You will encounter a wide array of clinical conditions, including those unique to the military environment. In addition to providing clinical care to address the full spectrum of mental health concerns, Navy Clinical Psychologists provide support to the Navy and Marine Corps by:Conducting therapy and providing clinical care to service members in deployed settingsAdministering and interpreting assessments and evaluationsConducting seminars to help service members, including upper leadership, maintain positive mental healthParticipating in military training exercises that enhance our ability to reach service members in a wide variety of settingsProviding training and mentorship to new generations of psychologistsServing in leadership and policy positions aimed at sustaining mental health within the militaryPresenting at professional conferencesIn your role providing therapy and clinical care to service members, you may gain experience in the following mental health specialties:Post-traumatic stressFamily relationshipsCrisis interventionStress managementDepression and anxietyGrief after lossFinancial issues and planningCareer, productivity and leadership issuesPAY AND BENEFITSOur people are our most valuable assets, so we care for them well. D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from a university or professional school program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS). An APA-accredited doctoral internship is required. Waivers for the APA accredited internship requirement may be considered for individuals who have completed an APA-accredited post-doctoral residency or fellowship or have attained board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Current licensure from a U.S. State, territory or district is required of all applicants.All offers have many variables.
