Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications Location: Hybrid (San Francisco and some remote work) Type: Full time (40 hours per week); non-exempt; some evenings & weekends required Salary: $30 per hour ($62,400 annualized); plus benefits package INTRODUCTION Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale—America’s leading period instrument and historically informed performance ensemble—seeks a creative, resourceful, and digitally savvy Marketing Coordinator to help promote its concerts, community programs, and special events. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and working closely with the Senior Manager of Patron Services, the Marketing Coordinator supports all aspects of Philharmonia’s marketing strategy, from email and social media to print collateral and data analysis. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, detail-oriented, curious about data, and eager to connect audiences to classical music in fresh and compelling ways. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Campaign Execution Support subscription and single ticket campaigns across email, social, digital, print, and PR channels. Manage project timelines and deliverables using Asana. Email Marketing Maintain a calendar of weekly emails; manage segmentation and list uploads (MailChimp, GMass). Build emails based on team briefs; source graphics (Canva); coordinate contributions from other departments. Social Media Primary liaison for our social media consultant, coordinating artist permissions, giving feedback, and managing workflow to keep our social media channels active and engaging. Assist with on-site video and photo content capture, as needed. Website & Digital Manage routine updates and major seasonal launches in WordPress. Track and report digital metrics using Google Analytics, Search Console, and Meta tools. Print & Graphic Production Project manage concert program book production: commission program notes, brief designer, edit, proof, route drafts, and manage printing. Design basic collateral in Canva using brand guidelines; liaise with freelance designer. Audience Engagement Develop front-of-house activities (pre-concert/intermission) and manage lobby presence and signage. Execute patron surveys and summarize results. Data & Reporting Generate performance reports using PatronManager and other platforms. Surface actionable insights to optimize campaign results. Community & Cross-Promotions Maintain relationships and ad and list trades with like-minded partner orgs. Manage Google Grant and SEM campaigns to target CPA. Administrative Support Manage / execute print/mail projects, seat carding, and other prep as needed. Submit bills and track spend against budget. Box office cover as needed - answering phones, entering ticket and subscription orders. Responding to emails to company inboxes. QUALIFICATIONS 1–3 years marketing experience; performing arts or nonprofit experience a plus. Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills. Proficient in Excel and Canva; WordPress experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic database work a plus. Comfortable analyzing marketing performance and applying insights. Team player able to work cross-functionally and juggle competing deadlines. Availability for evening/weekend concerts and events. Passion for classical music and audience development.
