Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology will lead the strategic direction, implementation, and management of information technology at Nexus Engineering Group. This role is responsible for ensuring that IT initiatives align with company-wide goals, optimizing technology investments, and delivering systems that enhance productivity, efficiency, and security. The IT Director will collaborate with leadership, department heads, and end-users to drive value through technology while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Key responsibilities include overseeing IT strategy, budgeting, vendor management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and employee training. This role will also ensure that information systems, network services, and applications are continuously optimized to support business operations and future growth.Key AccountabilitiesEnsure IT strategy and initiatives align with company-wide business goalsDevelop and manage the IT budget, collaborating with the CFO, COO, and Department HeadsEstablish and enforce IT policies, including cybersecurity, system management, and employee technology useOversee contract negotiations with IT vendors to optimize cost and serviceCommunicate IT costs, value, risks, and performance to management through KPI dashboardsDevelop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plansEnsure compliance with client IT security requirements and industry regulationsDrive continuous improvement and innovation in technology systemsKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performanceOptimize information systems and applications, including licensing, versioning, and system administrationImplement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect company and client dataSupport engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Systems, Primavera P6) and ensure seamless integration across project management toolsProvide IT support for remote teams, mobile users, and field engineersOversee IT support services, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network issuesDevelop employee training programs to enhance adoption and effective use of IT systemsStay ahead of emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency, productivity, and profitabilityImprove IT automation and integration to streamline processes and enhance cross-departmental collaborationExperience And ExpertiseBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field5+ years of leadership and management experience in a professional services industry10+ years managing IT in a professional services or engineering-focused environmentExperience managing engineering software and supporting project-based workSkills & Competencies:Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilitiesCybersecurity expertise, including risk management and incident responseExcellent communication skills for executive reporting and cross-functional collaborationAbility to lead vendor negotiations and contract managementCustomer service mindset to ensure IT delivers value across the organizationCompetitive BenefitsLearn more about our competitive benefits in detail.Why Nexus?Nexus Engineering Group, a distinguished independent full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, provides comprehensive support to clients from concept through startup.
