Join to apply for the Assistant Store Manager role at The Buckle, Inc.The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership. The AIT and Assistant Manager will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager Position is a progression from the AIT position and therefore includes additional high level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared. ResponsibilitiesSales Generation and Guest Service: Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude; provide legendary service; answer questions; locate merchandise; anticipate Guest needs; demonstrate product knowledge; maintain knowledge of current promotions and policies; achieve personal sales goals; provide service across Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area; manage exchange and return procedures; utilize SPG to drive results; build Guest relationships; train Teammates; lead by example; plan sales goals with Store Manager; own the store’s sales performance; showmanship in product education.Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development: Recognize recruiting opportunities; coach and develop new Teammates; maintain positive floor culture; demonstrate appropriate dress code; participate in daily setup and training; motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks; train on denim showmanship and related duties; execute department calendars and leadership actions; support recruitment efforts; train non-sales positions; respond to changing sales focuses.Visual Merchandise Management: Own and influence product through zone ownership; delegate zones and projects; ensure compliance with Visual Standards; identify merchandising opportunities; conduct store tours; manage freight display and product lifecycle; implement visual changes to improve performance; maintain visual standards on floor and backroom.Operations: Maintain flexible schedule; complete opening/closing checklists; monitor security and Loss Prevention; manage POS procedures; communicate with Corporate Office; ensure policy compliance; navigate store tools; supervise non-sales positions; maintain a clean, organized store; provide feedback on merchandise handling; report concerns to leadership; adhere to Code of Ethics and policies; complete new hire paperwork timely; manage markdowns, inbound/outbound freight, recalls, RTVs; coordinate with Corporate Office; manage supplies; respond to emergencies in Manager’s absence.Supervisory and Leadership: Provide and receive feedback; support leadership; promote store and personal growth; maintain professional relationships with Teammates; conduct interviews as needed; solve problems; self-educate on company tools and share with others; travel to cover other stores as needed; manage scheduling changes; uphold Buckle’s mission and positive team spirit; handle special projects. QualificationsEducation and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
