Role: Product Analyst Consultant
Location: On-site at New York / Stamford, CT

We are seeking a Product Analyst with a solid understanding of financial treasury and accounting processes in the private equity or buy-side finance sectors to support the IT team. The role involves developing business requirements, testing solutions, and enhancing custom in-house applications for the Treasury and Accounting teams. The successful candidate will collaborate with the AppDev team in an agile environment to deliver solutions for a new fund accounting platform.
Roles and Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Support
Manage and groom product backlogs based on functional and technical requirements.
Participate in daily scrums and oversee the project backlog.
Prepare training documents with Finance and IT teams.
Transition applications to IT operations for long-term support.
Create technical documentation following company standards.
Business Analysis & Planning
Attend brainstorming sessions to define business requirements and target state.
Collaborate with the finance team to document user requirements.
Manage change requests and update requirements in a timely manner.
Provide input on functional needs during architectural planning sessions.
Quality Assurance
Develop test cases in collaboration with Finance stakeholders.
Define acceptance criteria and ensure complete quality assurance.
Document test case failures and manage defect resolution.
Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and prepare sample data for testing.
Ensure business sign-off after quality assurance.
Qualifications
Background & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree/certifications preferred.
5 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting System Implementations, with 3+ years in Quality Assurance.
Understanding of private equity or buy-side finance industries; INVESTRAN knowledge is a plus.
Technical Skills
Experience with custom (in-house) applications and agile software engineering.
Ability to incorporate usability, security, and performance into solutions.
Proficiency in JIRA, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based productivity tools.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
Experience reviewing business requirements and visualizing user-focused solutions.
Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and promote ideas effectively.
Strong organizational skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
