We are seeking a forward-thinking Director of Information Technology to lead the strategic direction, development, and execution of our IT operations. This is a high-impact leadership role focused not only on technology infrastructure, but also on enabling our people and driving value across the organization. As Director of IT, you will report to the President/CEO and collaborate with company leadership and end users to align our technology systems with core business objectives. You'll oversee the delivery of reliable, secure, and user-centered solutions that enhance productivity, support innovation, and enable our continued success in the construction industry. From long-term planning to day-to-day support, your work will directly influence the effectiveness and experience of every Wright-Ryan employee. Key Responsibilities Strategic Technology Planning: Lead the development and implementation of a company-wide IT roadmap in partnership with senior leadership, ensuring technology supports our evolving goals and operations. Service-Focused Support: Champion a service-first culture within IT, prioritizing responsiveness, usability, and collaboration with departments to ensure technology solutions genuinely meet end-user needs. Digital Transformation Across Projects: Identify and implement innovative tools and workflows to enhance construction project delivery, team collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. IT Team Leadership: Direct and develop a performance-driven IT team aligned with business goals, ensuring clear accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic value delivery. Risk & Compliance: Proactively manage cybersecurity, risk, and compliance efforts across systems. Oversee routine security audits and implement monitoring practices to safeguard company data and operations. Vendor and Partner Relationships: Manage third-party providers and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure performance, reliability, and access to new technologies that provide real value to Wright-Ryan. Budget & Finance: Develop and maintain the IT budget, aligning investments with strategic goals and optimizing resources for long-term impact and sustainability. Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 in leadership roles supporting diverse business functions and executive stakeholders. Experience with enterprise software management platforms, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems. Technical expertise in network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, including IT risk management, continuity, and governance. Familiarity with the following systems: Cloud Computing (Microsoft Azure, Remote Apps, Hybrid AD) ERP/EMS/CRM Systems (Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Unanet) IT Management (Monday, Zoho, Capterra, Asset Tracking) Cross-Platform Cloud Integrations (Docusign, Jones COI, Egnyte, Teams, HH2) Deep knowledge administering Microsoft 365 tenants and Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Workflow Automation and AI (Power Automate, SharePoint, LLM/ML, MS Copilot, ChatGPT, Helix) Skilled in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing cross-platform integrations and IT management tools. Strategic thinker with strong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities to lead complex projects under tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse technical teams and drive user-centered IT initiatives across departments. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—able to engage technical and non-technical audiences and build strong internal partnerships. Willingness to travel to project sites when needed.
