Come join us to be a part of this amazing adventureIn a Nutshell: We are currently looking for several Assembly Associates to assemble components and lighting fixtures. While some assembly experience is helpful, we can train the right candidates Here's What You'll Be Doing:Assembling commercial/industrial lighting fixtures (Up to 8' in length) with appropriate wiring, etc.Wrapping and packaging finished fixturesHere's What We're Looking For:Detail oriented & follows instructionsQuality & Safety focusedEnjoys hands-on workGreat reliability (good attendance is critical) & ability to work overtime/occasional SaturdaysAble to work standing for the majority of the dayExperience working in a warehouse environment (non climate-controlled)Can lift and move fixtures up to 8' in length & up to 25 lbs.Previous production/assembly exp. helpful - but we'll train the right candidatesAble to pass Everify, Drug test & Background Check* *We believe in "Second Chances" and are "Background Friendly". General Overview & Reporting:The Assembly Associate is responsible for assembling components and lighting fixtures with varying degrees of complexity. This position reports to the Focus Factory Manager. Section II. Duties & Areas of Responsibility:The primary duties of the Assembly Associate consist of, but are not limited to, the following:A. Health & SafetyAdhere to all health & safety policies and practices, including wearing proper PPE at all timesActively follow a "safety first" culture with a "zero accidents" goalExercise caution and awareness around forkliftsEnsure work zones are tidy, clutter and obstacle freeIdentify safety risks in the work area, and advise managementHelp to identify resolutions to safety concerns & participate in implementation, as requestedImmediately notify management or HR of any safety incidences (accidents, or near misses)Pandemic or other health concerns protocol:Before shift start, take temperature, and if temp is over defined maximum, follow company protocol (advise supervisor, answer related questions, leave the premises, get tested as required)Follow social distancing (work, break, common areas, etc.)Ensure all shift end cleaning is completed (work areas and tools cleaned and sanitized)B. AssemblyReview product assembly instructions for each product being assembledEnsure all supplies and materials are availableCarefully follow all assembly instructions Notify water spiders of needs (missing components, etc.)Advise leads or management of any production-related issuesWrap and package finished products per packaging guidelinesMove completed product to assigned location for shipping pickupAchieve established daily production goalsEnsure tools are well maintained - report concerns to lead or managementC. Quality & ServicePrior to assembly, report any defects in materials to leads or managementUpon assembly completion, perform a visual inspection to ensure all components are included and assembly is correctD. Additional Duties:Rotate duties or provide backup in other areas as assigned by Lead or management Participate in annual inventory countsMust work additional hours as needed, including some weekends (when possible, advance notice will be provided)Maintain confidentiality regarding company business mattersOther duties, as assignedSection III: Necessary Skills and Attributes: Manual assembly experience is a plus, but not required (will train)Previous experience using hand tools is preferredAbility to read and follow assembly instructionsExcellent dependability/reliability (good attendance is required)Ability to use good judgement and take initiativeSolid problem resolution abilitiesGood communication and interpersonal skillsGood organizational skillsAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentAvailability to work overtime as needed, which may include some weekends (we will try to provide advance notice when possible)Willingness to assist wherever neededSection IV: Physical Requirements:Must be able to work in a non-air conditioned warehouse environment (exposure to heat, cold, dust, etc.)Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds & manuever up to 8' lighting fixturesVisual acuity required to read instructions, operate hand tools, written documents, inspect materials, products, etc.Must be able to work standing for long periods of time, stooping, bending, lifting, and in squatting positionManual dexterity required to operate hand tools, assemble products, handle materials, supplies, etc.
