Iona University is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Facilities Technician to join our facilities team. As an Industrial Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and electrical systems.
Your expertise in industrial equipment such as 120 ton chillers, cooling towers, VRF systems, BAS systems and controls, VFD drives will be crucial in troubleshooting and maintaining these systems.
You will work closely with our facilities team to ensure that all mechanical equipment is properly serviced and repaired, minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators, and other related equipment using various hand and power tools.
- Service and repair appliances such as fans, washing machines, refrigerators, fan coil units, boilers, and air conditioners.
- Maintain central steam, water, and chemical water treatment systems.
- Fabricate, assemble, and test parts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and must possess HVAC universal license
- 10 years in the mechanical field
- Must possess expertise and troubleshooting ability for industrial heating and cooling systems along with electrical and wiring proficiency
