The goal of a Sr. Software Engineer at Wisk is to support and lead software development for embedded software and interfaces. You will be part of the Communications and Data Services team that is responsible for developing, validating, and fine?tuning the Ground and Airborne Communications System and Data Services, including interfaces with external entities providing data. This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days. In this role you will tackle unique and complex problems. We are looking for an open?minded candidate who is an excellent collaborator and effective communicator. What You Will Do Act as a Sr. Software Engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market. Take part in designing and implementing observable safety?critical and non?safety?critical systems. Support systems engineering in defining and documenting the technical solution and integration efforts with other projects and external partners. Help support problem?solving activities by defining software architecture, physical architecture, and integration and testing plans. Coordinate integration and testing efforts. Write code in support of software development activities. Work closely with other functional teams to help define interfaces with other systems. Requirements BS in CS, AE, ME, EE, or equivalent, with 5?8 years of relevant experience in integrated systems. Experience in embedded systems. Hands?on experience taking a software product from ideation to customer release and maintenance. Ability to read schematics and perform basic hardware debugging. Expert proficiency in C/C++. Proficient using VSCode, Docker, Linux. Proficient in Go, Python, and shell scripting languages. Demonstrated capability in designing and integrating complex software architectures, including requirements generation and validation, ICD review and development, and software architecture definition. Exposure to computer networking and networking concepts. Will require 10% travel.
