WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Data Center Lead Technician will oversee day-to-day operational and technical activities supporting the data center lab environment. This role provides leadership to Data Center Infrastructure Technicians and Logistics Technicians, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and operational excellence. The supervisor will manage maintenance operations, infrastructure projects, and escalation processes to support the health and reliability of lab systems and services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and supervise Data Center Infrastructure and Logistics Technicians, including task assignments, shift scheduling, and performance management. Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and structured cabling systems within the lab and data center environment. Ensure timely and accurate equipment installation, commissioning, and decommissioning, coordinating with engineering, logistics, and operations teams. Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) to maintain compliance with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. Act as the primary escalation point for infrastructure incidents, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and resolution while maintaining communication with stakeholders. Partner with Logistics Technicians to oversee material movement, inventory accuracy, and safe handling of equipment and components. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including maintenance logs, asset tracking, compliance records, and performance reports. Manage technician timecards, attendance, and productivity metrics, taking corrective actions as needed to support team performance and adherence to policies. Drive adherence to Meta tooling, workflows, and best practices, ensuring process consistency and data accuracy across lab operations. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the lab and operations teams. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations, field services, or other critical infrastructure environments. At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience, managing technical teams. Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems (fiber and copper), energization procedures, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Proficiency in Meta tooling, documentation, and operational processes. Ability to interpret Engineering Design Packages (EDPs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other technical documentation. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. DESIRABLE CRITERIA CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional), CDCS (Certified Data Centre Specialist), or equivalent. BICSI Installer or Technician certification. OSHA 10/30 or other workplace safety certifications. Project management or technical training certifications a plus.
