CABI focuses on providing advanced brain imaging resources to the Atlanta area neuroscience community. The Research Scientist, Senior will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, administrative leadership, and operational management of the center, ensuring efficient functioning, regulatory compliance, and support for cutting‑edge research activities. Responsibilities Partner with the Technical Director to develop and implement long‑term strategies that drive growth, innovation, and sustainability of the MRI core. Oversee daily operations including scheduling, workflow optimization, budgeting, facilities management, vendor relations, and resource allocation. Supervise administrative staff and coordinate with research technologists, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, federal/state regulations, and safety protocols (HIPA, IRB, MRI standards). Manage budgets, financial reporting, and grant fund administration in partnership with finance and sponsored research offices. Serve as the primary liaison with investigators, assisting with study design, protocol development, scheduling, grant proposals, and fostering multi‑institutional, interdisciplinary partnerships. Collaborate on policy development, enforce operational procedures, and ensure accreditation with relevant regulatory and safety bodies. Support training, mentorship, and educational initiatives while leading marketing and outreach efforts to expand center visibility and impact. Minimum Hiring Requirements PhD and three years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications Doctoral degree and 4 years of relevant experience. 2+ years experience with MRI protocol administration and adherence. 2+ years experience with IRB compliance. Experience with/knowledge of GSU systems (COINS, Spectrum, IRBwise). Knowledge and/or experience with environmental health and safety protocol compliance. Experience with financial budgeting and projections.
