Public Infrastructure Inspector Supervisor- Construction Join the City of Houston as a Public Infrastructure Inspector Supervisor for civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and contract documents. Position Overview Reporting Location: 5005 Mitchelldale St. Workdays: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm. Tier 1 Level. Responsibilities Supervise inspections of public infrastructure (paving, water/wastewater lines, storm sewers, traffic signals). Review drawings and specifications for municipal projects. Develop training programs for inspection staff. Manage and mentor inspection staff to maximize effectiveness. Investigate inquiries concerning contract interpretations and technical problems. Approve daily reports to ensure accurate documentation. Address public and stakeholder inquiries, providing prompt resolution. Qualifications Associate’s degree related to inspection or high school diploma/GED with 18‑month technical specialty certification. Five (5) years of skilled construction experience. Certification as a Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII) or equivalent. Valid Texas driver’s license. Preference for veteran applicants and candidates holding multiple field certificates. Safety & Working Conditions Lifting up to 40 pounds and long periods of walking on rough surfaces. Exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture, and light chemicals. Employment Details Full‑time. Salary Grade 21. Salary range $60,000 – $90,000. Salary determined by qualifications and classification pay rates. Application Procedure Apply online at www.houstontx.gov.
