Energy Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Director - DERs Program Growth and Strategy to join our Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) department. As a member of the DERs leadership team, you will lead the growth and management of programs that incentivize the adoption of demand management, storage and solar. Storage, solar and demand response adoption are critical to decarbonizing the grid, and you will play a material role in helping our team make this future a reality. This market opportunity aligns with Energy Solutions’ mission-driven approach and provides an environment for individuals who want to influence the energy future.Energy Solutions operates as a predominantly remote workforce with offices in six locations. Employees residing within 40 miles of an office (except New York) will be assigned to that location, though in-office attendance requirements may vary by team. We are not accepting applications from candidates residing in Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Wyoming.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute long-term strategies that position the company as an industry leader, aligning with organizational goals, objectives, and operational constraints.Collaborate with department and company leaders to establish and execute a strategic growth plan for Energy Solutions’ DERs products.Coordinate with strategy, policy and product teams and subject matter experts to lead pursuit of new opportunities with utilities, state agencies, market partners and other clients.Represent Energy Solutions as a visible thought leader through client engagement, industry conferences, and participation in key industry boards and forums.Maintain and develop client and partner relationships, ensuring continued service excellence and strong client management.Provide oversight of a portfolio of programs including Automated Demand Response (ADR) and Solar to ensure programs achieve goals, deliver on time and within budget, and maintain high client satisfaction.Maintain deep awareness of industry trends, policy developments, and emerging technologies.Demonstrate understanding and capabilities of project and program management and leadership essential to success in the role.Facilitate collaboration across internal and external teams to achieve shared goals.Build and lead a team. Define policies and strategies to manage and motivate people. Manage performance of department staff, including direct and indirect supervision.Communicate regularly with department staff and management to direct priorities.Oversee workload and budgets, including recruiting, staffing and work assignments for the Strategy and Product team, as well as forecasting and tracking complex budgets.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, energy, policy, engineering, or related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience with program implementation and business development and sales, ideally in solar program administration.Minimum of 15 years of work experience including at least 5 years of supervision and leadership of multigenerational teams.Familiarity with the North American DERs market, ideally in energy and utility business and market for distributed generation, storage, and/or community solar.Experience working with and/or managing operational teams to deliver client outcomes.Outstanding problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skills.Ability to solve complex problems and provide solutions; ability to balance competing priorities.Strong client management and project management skills.Proven track record of supervision or organizational leadership.Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost management, and profitability optimization.Ability to provide thought leadership to achieve energy and climate goals.Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, fast-paced environment at a growing company.Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills; detail-oriented with strong time management.CompensationThe salary range is $180,000 to $220,000 annually, with a target compensation of $180,000 to $209,000 based on experience and qualifications. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
