EHS Specialist

You serve as the building’s safety champion and create an environment where safety and productivity thrive. Core Impact Areas Safety Program Excellence & Implementation – drive safety programs, audits, investigations, risk assessments, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Associate Advocacy & Cultural Leadership – advise on well‑being, communicate, coach, and influence behavioral change to embed safety as a priority. Additional Job Elements Include Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift. Work in a noise‑varying environment. Work in variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading). Climb and descend stairs (where applicable). Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site. Must be available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends. Must obtain an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification within 3 weeks if not already held. Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910. Minimum 1 year in an EHS‑related field, or a bachelor’s degree in an EHS‑related background, or 6 months in a safety‑related role within Amazon. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel professionally. Experience maintaining confidentiality on security and/or personnel issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience in worker’s compensation case management. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a safety‑related field. Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills. Experience leading teams, analyzing accident data, identifying safety concerns, and conducting job hazard and job safety analyses. Experience in emergency response and current First Aid/CPR certificates.
