Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Behavioral Scientist - External Affairs, you will join Turnberry's Business Transformation practice. Turnberry's Business Transformation practice is dedicated to diagnosing and addressing core business challenges including regulatory compliance, full-scale implementation, managing change, and driving continuous improvement across transformation initiatives. Responsibilities Serve as owner of key behavioral strategies, as identified by EA leadership and behavioral scientist Some initiatives that EA is driving will have psychology or behavior change as a foundational component, such as: The creation and management of a Community Index measuring the impact of EA and aligned with financial fulfillment work, inclusive of the partnerships necessary to develop and maintain it A differentiated, impact-oriented financial education initiative across client segments Lead the integration of behavioral forecasting models that help External Affairs prioritize work and show the anticipated impact of investments Provide actionable, tactical recommendations to advance EA objectives, such as: Co-design interventions that expand first-generation investors, small-business owners, and caregivers access to wealth-building tools Review research and literature from academia and industry related to behavioral strategies and distill findings into actionable takeaways for EA leaders and teams Serve as the connection point to the Behavioral Science team's BIRD Lab to curate an external network of academics, NGOs, and partners to accelerate R&D Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant social science field (e.g., psychology, organizational behavior, behavioral finance, economics) or equivalent work experience Doctorate preferred Deep knowledge of US household financial decision-making, and the policy and regulatory landscape relevant to improving finances for them Expertise and experience in financial services and the work of External Affairs, including: public policy, communications, and social impact Experience leading large and complex behavioral science efforts across organizations Excellent data skills and ability to conduct research to uncover insights into human behavior and decision-making processes Ability to design and analyze behavioral science interventions and partner with business, community, and academic stakeholders to apply and scale them The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $185,000 or the hourly equivalent.
