I’m the Hospitalist Medical Director at AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen, Texas. Since 2022, I have been an integral part of the team, initially as a hospitalist and growing into the medical director. We are expanding our team and are looking for new colleagues to join us. - Our hospital medicine team is an exceptional blend of highly skilled, motivated, and deeply engaged providers with a genuine affinity for our community. Emphasizing teamwork, they value collaboration while maintaining their distinct individual practice styles.
- Presently, our team consists of six daytime physicians, two nighttime physicians, and two swing advanced practice providers, following a seven on/off block schedule.
- The APP position offers swing shifts from 12 pm to 12 am.

- I take pride in serving as a team member and the medical director of this dynamic team. My leadership style is affiliative, and as a practicing hospitalist, my primary focus is creating a non-toxic and engaging workplace. I invest significant time ensuring that providers are content and have a voice in our team.
- Working alongside our dedicated clinical performance nurse (CPN), we consistently encourage outstanding performance in all hospital-required metrics, ensuring effective utilization of time and effort.
Practice
- Our hospital is organized into five units: two medical-surgical units, a progressive care unit, a cardiac/step-down care unit, and an intensive care unit. The ICU is staffed with a dedicated critical care physician with tele-ICU capabilities.
- As a level 3 trauma center, stroke center, and comprehensive cardiac center, our facility provides specialized care.
- The primary responsibility for this position entails admissions, with some additional duties involving cross-coverage.
- At AdventHealth Central Texas, the hospital medicine group is recognized for its patient-centered and respectful approach. We are driven to enhance physician communication not only with patients but also with multidisciplinary teams. Placing patient care as our top priority, we adhere to evidence-based medicine, ensuring safe and reliable care for everyone in the community.
- Our hospitalist team members are deeply committed to the hospital’s success and actively participate in various committees such as the sepsis, readmission, peer review, credentialing, and glycemic.
- Functioning as effective community partners, our hospitalists mentor PA students through clinical rotations and engage in health equity projects initiated by the hospital’s quality department.
