If you are mechanically inclined, have a knack for robotics, and are naturally curious, this role is for you In this role, you will start your career at Globe programming, maintaining, and repairing the latest robotics technology utilized in our material handling systems.

This position is located in Tacoma, WA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawing specifications, and parts lists.
  • Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assemble robotic components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, when necessary.
  • Actively participate in the assembly and test of the robots and equipment prior to shipment.
  • Program PLCs, robots, vision systems and other machine controllers in partnership with Controls Engineers.
  • Create detailed plans for installation, startup, and commissioning including schedule, tasks, resources, tools, and equipment.
  • Gather hard or electronic copies of all drawings, schematics, and installation documentation for use in the field.
  • Study and understand sequence of operations, control's philosophy, speed setups, and system performance requirements.
  • Interact with internal and external project managers during field projects.
  • Provide repair and repair supervision for Globe's manufactured equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two Year Technological Degree required.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings required.
  • Previous experience programming PLCs, robots, and other machine controllers required.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
  • Machine assembly experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
  • Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Proven ability to use hand, power, and precision tools and gauges required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and possess, or be able to obtain, a Passport and Transportation Workers Identification (TWI) card.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

All employees of Globe MUST be able to pass a drug test and background check. Our industry is "safety sensitive" and we do require a negative cannabis drug screen as well.
