About the Role: An independent Catholic school for young women in grades 7-12, Ursuline Academy is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Athletic Director to lead a thriving athletic program serving 365 middle and high school students, with an anticipated start date of December 1, 2025. With 27 teams across 14 sports and more than 70% student participation, athletics are an integral part of life at Ursuline Academy, a member of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). This is more than a scheduling job. As Athletic Director, you’ll be the architect and ambassador of our athletic culture, which is rooted in mission, excellence, and school spirit. You’ll oversee daily operations, hire and support 45 coaches, manage the athletic budget and facilities, ensure compliance with school and MIAA policies, and most importantly, champion the holistic development of our student-athletes. What You’ll Do Oversee all interscholastic athletics, ensuring high standards of safety and adherence to the school’s mission. Manage eligibility, medical compliance, and head injury protocols in partnership with health staff and families. Lead a 45-person coaching staff, including hiring and mentoring. Coordinate game and practice schedules, transportation, officials, and equipment. Be a visible and active presence at home games, practices, and school events. Collaborate with administrators to align athletics with academics, arts, and wellness programs. Develop and manage the athletics budget, equipment inventory, and facilities in collaboration with the Business Office and Facilities team. Build strong relationships with students, families, alumnae, and community partners. Promote a culture of sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth. Job Requirements What You Bring: 5+ years of experience in coaching or athletic administration. A Bachelor’s degree (required). A commitment to promoting excellence in girls’ athletics. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. A warm, collaborative, and student-centered approach. Deep knowledge of athletic operations—logistics, compliance, scheduling, and supervision. Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support team events. Familiarity with MIAA rules and regulations. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Why Join Us?
