OverviewLifeLong Medical Care is seeking a Regional Director of Specialty Services - Pediatrics to provide clinical oversight and leadership for one or more health centers in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.The Medical Director (Specialty Services) provides leadership and clinical oversight for a designated specialty service area, including service planning, objective setting, system development, staffing, quality assurance, budget, and personnel issues in collaboration with the Vice President(s) of Clinical Operations and Center Director(s). LifeLong uses team-based care to provide the most efficient and effective care to our patients. This position functions as a critical member of the care team, ensuring team communication, quality care, and patient satisfaction. The role includes providing high-quality primary care, building collaborative teams, and working with underserved populations. Primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants with management experience and a passion for developing and participating in a team model of care for a complex population are encouraged to apply.As the Regional Medical Director for multiple Pediatrics/SBHC Health Centers, you will join a community that is diverse, dynamic, and rich in culture and history. We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based services and are committed to an inclusive workplace that reflects the diversity of the East Bay communities we serve.ResponsibilitiesHold a leadership role with clinical mentorship and oversight, with or without formal direct reports.Supervise, recruit, hire, train, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers on site/service line.Participate in provider recruitment, retention, onboarding, and mentorship.Provide direct patient care in a diverse, fast-paced health center, including work with students, residents, and/or fellows.Collaborate with medical leadership and participate in team building and clinical training activities.Serve as clinical advisor and provide consultation and oversight for complex cases.Deliver medical practice and clinical guideline updates to provider staff.Conduct regular chart reviews, peer observations, and performance evaluations to ensure standards are met.Contribute to coaching, performance improvement plans, and corrective actions.Review and advise on clinically related grievances and complaints.Monitor Epic dashboard metrics covering quality measures, open charts, and panel management.Ensure compliance with clinical, quality, and safety protocols; engage in quality and safety initiatives and risk reviews.Participate in cross-functional training and meetings with providers, nurses, and medical assistants.Support achievement of safety, quality, and productivity benchmarks.QualificationsAbility to coordinate care, develop staff, and build a strong, productive team.Commitment to primary care for underserved populations with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.Ability to lead in a team-oriented environment with diverse professionals.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to supervise staff and foster professional development.Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills; adaptable to change.Ability to work independently with professional judgment and diplomacy.Professional conduct that reflects positively on LifeLong Medical Care.Creative, proactive attitude with ability to identify opportunities for improvement.Job RequirementsBoard-eligible or board-certified physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant with CA medical licensure and BLS certification.Experience serving vulnerable populations in outpatient primary care.Familiarity with electronic health records, Epic preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Prior management experience preferred.BenefitsCompensation: NP/PA $127,500 - $151,000; MD/DO $203,000 - $225,000, depending on experience and residency.Annual $10,000 stipend and a sign-on bonus.Excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b), loan repayment programs, and commuter benefits.
