Overview Physician (Family Practice) – Davis Monthan AFB, AZ This position is located at 355th MDG, Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. Davis-Monthan AFB is located 5 miles southeast of downtown Tucson, AZ (Pima County). The facility is part of the Department of Defense and is covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act for medical malpractice liability insurance. For more information, visit USajobs Benefits. Responsibilities Provide first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults. Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the team. Provide pre‑and post‑deployment health assessments, including mental health assessments and deployment waivers, as well as preventive health assessments to clear military personnel for deployment and to verify status upon return. Provide a full range of primary and preventive health‑care services, including military‑specific medical care, ambulatory surgical procedures, coordination of care, and referral to other facilities and specialists. Independently formulate full treatment and management regimens based on sound diagnoses consistent with current evidence‑based clinical practice guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications US Citizenship required In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required. Degree Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada, accredited by a recognized accrediting body. A foreign medical degree must have equivalent education and medical knowledge to accredited U.S. schools, demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or an equivalent credential. Licensure Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Graduate Training At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., internship or first year of a residency program). Residency Training Completed an accredited residency in Family Medicine (or equivalent experience); at least five years of experience may satisfy the residency requirement.
