Delivery Driver

Daycon Products Company, a leading manufacturer and distributor of building maintenance supplies and services, is in search of Delivery Drivers to join our team based in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Job Title: Delivery Driver
Hours: M-F, Core Hours 6am-3:30pm (until route is complete)
Reports to: Transportation Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
Drives truck on assigned route to deliver cleaning and maintenance products or services. Picks up equipment for repairs or product return. The driver is responsible for putting away products according to customized process or customer requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Perform daily DOT inspections.
•Drive truck to deliver items including commercial cleaning products, commercial paper supplies, and hardware to customer's place of business.
•Maintain communication with dispatch office.
•Knowledge of MD/DC/NoVa streets, roads, and highways.
•Provide excellent customer service, and always represent Daycon in a positive manner.
•Record delivery information on sales order.
•Resolve service complaints.
•Collect floor care equipment for repair.
•Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt for pick up or delivery.
•Maintain cleanliness of truck.
•Must comply with company driver appearance policy.
•Resolve service complaints.
•Collect empty containers, pallets, boxes, and any trash/ waste generated during the product put away process.
•Follow complete driver check in process/procedures when returning product to warehouse.
•Follow map directions and routing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
•At least two years of experience driving a 24-26ft box truck.
•Valid driver's license, Non CDL and CDL A/B positions available
•Safe driving history
•Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs.
•Ability to pass a DOT physical and criminal background screen.
•Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
•Base computer proficiency
•Excellent customer relations skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
•Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and move more than 100 pounds.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, or walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and inoutside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to vibration.
•The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
