Prior Yard Truck or similar equipment experience preferred but not required. Willing to train. Good tenure is a huge plus.

YOUR ROLE

Summary: Operates vehicles and equipment to move or transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient manner inside the yard. Moves vehicles, trailers and flatbeds to and from dock and yard area to assist with loading, unloading and yard utilization. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Typical Responsibilities:

* Operating Yard Truck / Hostler to move trailers from between docks and trailer yard

* Pulling out and backing trailers into the dock

* Pre and post trip inspections on Hostler

* Moving jack stands

* Walking to and from dock

* Climbing up and down hostler steps

* Logging trailer tasks on various devices

* Communication with the Supervisor/Team Leader

* Fueling hostler

* Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times

* Perform daily yard check

* Perform other duties as assigned

Travel: No business travel required excluding normal travel associated with the job functions of the position.

Minimum:

* Minimum 6 months related experience preferred.

* Valid state issued Class C Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence.

* Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs. Ability to effectively present information in one on one or in small group situations. Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities. Consistently at work and on time. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out oral or written instructions. Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
