OverviewThe Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) is seeking outstanding full-time Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained Physicians to join our Primary Care Clinic Team as a Primary Care Provider. This incumbent will be located within the OVHCS Ambulatory Care Service. Assignments to other facilities within OVAHCS and travel to the site may be required to meet the needs of the service. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).DutiesThe Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) is currently seeking outstanding full-time Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained Physicians to join our Primary Care Clinic Team as a Primary Care ProviderThis incumbent will be responsible to provide comprehensive medical care - under the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model - to a panel of patients managed under PCMM guidelinesThe incumbent is expected to be attentive to patient education - preventive care and be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality primary careThe incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical careDuties and responsibilities include - but are not limited to: Manages chronic conditions - evaluates and treats inter-current medical conditionsDetermine medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocolsCollaborates with a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to provide accessible - comprehensive - coordinated - continuous care to an assigned panel of patientsMust provide comprehensive care for female veterans as a Women's Health PCP including age appropriate cervical and breast cancer screening - menopause and contraceptive management - and initial evaluation of basic gynecological concernsPerforms a variety of disease prevention related activities including sex and age specific screenings - mental health screenings - and health promotion activitiesScreens for - evaluates and treats uncomplicated common mental health disorders - including depression and common addictions - with referrals made to mental health providers for further evaluation and treatment as appropriateProvide Buprenorphine treatment in the management of Opioid Use Disorder per DEA guidancePrimary care physicians will have responsibility for supervision of or collaboration with primary care mid-level providersPhysicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and to participate in peer review of other primary care providers through periodic chart reviewsPrimary care physicians will act as surrogates for absent primary care providers when needed - to include review of CPRS view alertsPrimary care physicians will regular attend primary care staff meetings - departmental meetings and medical staff meetingsTimely documentation (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policyAll administrative work should be completed in a timely fashionClinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriateQuality of care should meet professional standardsUtilization of all Virtual Care modalities is an expectation of this positionProvide timely follow-up on results - including completion of view alertsPrescribe medication according to approved formulary - and in accordance with Federal and State LawConsults other specialties as appropriate - according to service agreementsDemonstrates flexibility in responding to clinic demands - adhere to personal and professional obligations and responsibilities - practice and maintain ethical standards - and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service orientedCover unassigned/unscheduled patients or clinic when a provider is on leave or when there is a provider vacancy - urgent needAssignments may include management of specialty PACT such as Women's health PACT - SCI PACT - OEF/OIF PACT - Homeless or GERI PACTTravel to other sites within the Health Care System to cover provider shortageVA offers a comprehensive total rewards packageWork Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor - the incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs)Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Authorized - As determined by Facility/AgencyEDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentiveContact VISN8CCOE@va.gov - the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistanceLearn more Travel/Driving: You may be required to travel for this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
