We are working on important environmental, transportation, solid waste, and water quality projects and are proud to have an established relationship with a range of clients, providing us the opportunity to support the communities in which we live and work. You will have flexibility to work remotely and come into the office for mentorship, project, and team collaboration. Office collaboration is a minimum of one day per week when not working in the field. This position requires overnight travel for field work throughout the Pacific Northwest, predominantly within the state of Washington.You WillConduct field investigations, including:Site reconnaissance activitiesEnvironmental drilling and construction oversightEnvironmental sampling (soil, groundwater, air/gas, surface water, etc.) and documentationFollow sampling and analysis plans / health and safety plansPrepare technical documentation, including:Well logs and tabulating field/analytical data. Assist with preparation of site investigation summary reports, and work plansHelp with Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies and Hydrogeologic AssessmentsAssist with quarterly groundwater monitoring reportsTravel up to 50% per month to support field investigations and well construction observation, with periods of less frequent travelOccasional periods of overtime related to field workWork towards becoming a Licensed Geologist (LG), or hydrogeologist (LHG) in Washington StateRequired Qualifications1+ years of consulting experience and/or an equivalent of education and relevant work experienceAcademic coursework or professional experience in environmental geology and hydrogeologyProficiency with field sampling methods and equipmentExperience troubleshooting field equipment issuesBasic knowledge of laboratory analytical data (inorganic/organic chemistry)40-hour HAZWOPER TrainingProficiency working in a team environment on multiple concurrent projectsEfficiency with time management and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsGeologist in Training, First Aid, and CPR, and U7 UST Site AssessorExperienced in drilling and construction observationFamiliarity with performing data validation/tabulationKnowledge of regulations and technical tools including:Solid Waste Regulations (WAC 173-304, -350 and -351),Model Toxics Control Act (WAC 173-340)ASTM E1527-21 Phase I ESAs;GIS, R, MODFLOW, Grapher, and Sanitas SoftwareExperience researching well logs and developing hydrogeologic cross sectionsProfessional/societal memberships (GSA, AEG, SWANA, local geology club, etc.)Compensation InformationHourly compensation for this position is in the range of $36.05-$40.50 per hour ($75,000 to $84,240 annually) with time and a half compensation for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. As employee-owners, we are eligible for performance-based bonuses and our salaries are reviewed annually.
