Join us.About the Team:The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Terran R’s nervous system, designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major electrical system on the vehicle and ground. The team’s structure intentionally combines avionics design, manufacturing, and test to enable rapid iteration and feedback loops. Engineers are deeply embedded into other functions within Relativity, working closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. Now is a unique time to join: you’ll get to help shape Terran R's fundamental avionics architecture and be given a high degree of ownership on components that will fly.About the Role:Develop frameworks and infrastructure to conduct qualification and acceptance testing of RF and Telemetry Avionics components on the Terran R launch vehicleDesign equipment to facilitate Avionics component testing: simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures and enclosures, and system validation toolsWork with hardware design engineers and software engineers to derive test requirements and methodologiesCreate and maintain test plans and procedures for avionics systems that support regulatory and licensing activities with government and regulatory bodies such as the FCC, ITU, and USSFIntegrate, commission, and operate test rack hardware and software to support component- and system-level functional testingAbout You:Develop frameworks and infrastructure to conduct qualification and acceptance testing of RF and Telemetry Avionics components on the Terran R launch vehicleDesign equipment to facilitate Avionics component testing: simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures and enclosures, and system validation toolsWork with hardware design engineers and software engineers to derive test requirements and methodologiesCreate and maintain test plans and procedures for avionics systems that support regulatory and licensing activities with government and regulatory bodies such as the FCC, ITU, and USSFIntegrate, commission, and operate test rack hardware and software to support component- and system-level functional testingNice to haves but not required: Familiarity with telemetry standards such as IRIG-106Experience designing active RF electronics such as PAs, LNAs, and/or radio transceiversExperience with a schematic capture & PCB design tool such as Altium DesignerFamiliarity with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for data acquisition/recording and analysisFamiliarity with wire harness designFamiliarity with CAD tools such as NXAt Relativity Space, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation practices.
