IT Project Manager (MSP Onboarding & Professional Services) Responsible for the planning, executing, and closing of managed IT projects for new and existing clients. Works closely with MSP Project Engineers, MSP Project Technicians, and the network operations team to ensure project deliverables are met within scope, budget, and timeline. Serves as primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. Requires strong financial expertise, including budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting. Department: Projects Location: Louisiana Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 per year Key Responsibilities Manage onboarding projects, leading the transition of new clients. Explain scope of services and implementation process to clients. Document client environments, capturing processes, milestones, and client‑specific requirements. Coordinate implementation of MSP services by assigning resources and monitoring progress. Core Tools Deployed During Onboarding Email security filtering and protection Endpoint protection and monitoring Multi‑factor authentication (MFA) and basic identity access management (IAM) Security awareness and phishing simulation training Configuration change detection and auditing SaaS cloud security monitoring Security information and event management (SIEM) Automated configuration processes and workflows Threat detection, response, and proactive threat hunting Professional Services Projects Networking Installations—install or replace firewalls, switches, wireless access points. Server Installations—install or replace on‑premises servers and configure services such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File, and Print. Azure / Entra and Microsoft 365 Projects—domain join, email migration, SharePoint migration. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Project Planning and Coordination Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed plans, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets. Schedule resources, planning up to a month in advance. Assign tasks to engineers and technicians and monitor progress. Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation. Manage financial variances to keep projects within scope and budget. Financial Management Build and maintain budgets, tracking expenditures. Forecast project end dates and resource needs. Use Microsoft Excel and ConnectWise to analyze financials. Prepare and present financial reports on performance and profitability. Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the lifecycle. Collaboration and Communication Primary client contact during execution. Conduct kick‑off meetings to discuss goals. Communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Coordinate cross‑functional teams for seamless integration. Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives. Risk Management Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project life cycle. Escalate major risks and issues as needed. Quality Assurance Ensure delivery on time, within scope and budget. Adhere to quality standards and best practices. Conduct profitability reports and after‑action reviews. Customer Service Maintain high satisfaction through professional interactions. Address and resolve customer concerns promptly. Conduct close‑out meetings and gather feedback. Coordinate timely resolution of technical issues. Team Leadership Lead project teams, including technicians, engineers, installers, and subcontractors. Assign tasks and provide guidance and support. Safety Management Enforce safety protocols and procedures. Conduct safety training and ensure compliance. Investigate and report accidents or incidents. Optional Skills & Experience Experience in an MSP environment. Implementation of networking equipment or server environments. Implementation of EDR/MDR, MFA, and NGAV. Migration to or understanding of Azure/Entra, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint. Experience with ConnectWise Manage / PSA. Physical Demands Lifting up to 50 lbs., twisting, bending, walking upwards.
