Care and Connections for Families provides in-home counseling and support services to families whose children are experiencing a mental health crisis. Sheppard Pratt provides crisis intervention services that address the family's immediate needs. We also help pave the way toward a long-term, stable family environment with support services.

What to expect.

We are seeking a licensed clinical counselor or social worker to perform as the Program Director for Care and Connections for Families. The Program Director will oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of a mental health program serving school-age youth, including managing mental health therapists and in-home stabilizers. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, monitoring program performance, and coordinating services to provide high-quality care.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with outside agencies and representing the program on external committees.
  • Providing oversight and supervision for clinical staff, including offering individual and group clinical supervision.
  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, leading team meetings, and ensuring effective communication within the program.
  • Implementing quality assurance mechanisms and overseeing program evaluations to ensure clinical targets are met.
  • Managing the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff, as well as providing ongoing supervision and performance evaluations.
  • Conducting regular audits of client and program files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Overseeing client referrals, case assignments, and the discharge or transfer of clients as appropriate.
  • Providing guidance and clinical consultation to both clinical and non-clinical staff.

What we need from you.
  • Must be licensed in Maryland as a:
    • Licensed Certificated Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C)
    • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  • Certification in clinical supervision through the Maryland Board of Counseling or Board of Social Work is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with school-age youth, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
  • A driver's license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
The pay range for this position is $83,657 minimum to $98,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, license and years and level of related experience.
